Biography

Dr. Zegarek received his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine before completing his training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Afterwards, he joined the West Haven VA as a primary care physician and educator in the Center of Education (COE) for Interprofessional Primary Care, where he teaches nurse practitioner and internal medicine residents. He currently serves as the Associate Firm Chief for Firm A and COE and as a co-director of the Clinician Educator Distinction for the Yale Internal Medicine Residency. His interests include teaching skills in shared decision making and improving training in transitions of care.
