Biography

Dr. Koray Gorkem Sacinti is an obstetrician-gynecologist and clinical researcher. Prior to joining the Yale School of Medicine, he held competitively funded clinical research positions in Belgium, Italy, and Israel.

Dr. Sacinti currently serves as Chair of the Emerging Therapies Committee of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and as Secretary of the Nomenclature Committee of the International Federation of Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (IFCPC). In addition to ISSVD and IFCPC, he is also an active member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL).

Informed by his training in epidemiology, his ongoing research interests include vulvovaginal disease and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, with a strong emphasis on vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES). He engages in industry collaborations and consultancy, including the award-winning smart vaginal pad project. He has published a significant number of peer-reviewed articles, contributed to several book chapters, and has presented his research at many regional and international congresses.

Alongside his academic roles, Dr. Sacinti is actively involved—pro bono—in global women’s health initiatives, particularly those supporting clinical care and education in underserved regions. Beyond medicine, he has also published two literary books exploring themes of time, embodiment, and womanhood.
