Fabiola Arbelo Cruz, MD

Dr. Fabiola Arbelo Cruz (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, where she serves as Director of the Health Equity Curriculum for the Yale Psychiatry Residency Program and Medical Director of the Substance Use and Addiction Treatment Unit (SATU) at the Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC). She has extensive clinical experience caring for individuals with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders in community mental health and addiction treatment settings, including people experiencing homelessness through her work as an attending addiction psychiatrist with the CMHC Street Psychiatry team.

Dr. Arbelo Cruz’s clinical, educational, and scholarly work focuses on expanding knowledge and access to quality outpatient addiction treatment. Her work also seeks to reduce stigma surrounding substance use disorders and medications for addiction treatment (MAT) and address racial and ethnic inequities in addiction care.
