Biography

Emmanuel Ihionkhan joined Yale in 2025 as part of the integrated Interventional Radiology residency program. Originally from Nigeria, he earned his MD from Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and his MBA from Seton Hall University. Before entering medicine, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry producing CAR-T cell therapies for hematologic malignancies. His academic interests include clinical interventional radiology, global IR outreach, physician wellness, and health systems innovation. He is committed to expanding access to image-guided therapies in underserved communities and strengthening the professional identity of interventional radiologists. Outside of medicine, he enjoys mentoring students and traveling.
