Biography

Delva P. Leao, PhD is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Dietrich Lab of Physiology and Behavior in the Department of Comparative Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. She received her BA in Biotechnology and MSc in Genetics and Molecular Biology before earning her PhD, where she investigated how genetic mosaicism in the brain of monozygotic quadruplets (nine-banded armadillos) contributes to phenotypic variability and individuality.

Her current postdoctoral research, advised by Dr. Marcelo Dietrich, builds on this foundation by applying bioinformatics and high-throughput genomic approaches to questions in physiology and behavior. She brings expertise in computational biology, transcriptomics, and integrative data analysis, contributing to interdisciplinary efforts at the interface of neuroscience, genetics, and behavior.
