Ayesha Aijaz, MD

I grew up in Kashmir and decided I wanted to become an oncologist at age 13 while undergoing treatment for lymphoma. Since then, my journey has taken me from being a cancer patient to conducting oncology research in immunotherapy and precision medicine at the University of Oklahoma. I am passionate about caring for patients, advancing cancer research, and one day helping develop treatments that change the standard of care. Outside of medicine, I enjoy painting, poetry, chess, and collecting stories from the people I meet along the way. I am excited to begin the next chapter of that journey as an Internal Medicine resident at Yale New Haven Hospital.
