The Department of Surgery’s new “Enterprise Directory” addresses the need for improved accessibility and collaboration across the surgeon community. Spearheaded by Dr. Sanjay Kulkarni, Executive Physician Director for Clinical Continuity at Yale New Haven Hospital, the directory provides an at-a-glance overview of Yale faculty and Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) surgeons across the state, and easy-to-navigate referral instructions.
The directory, a digital reference hosted online and integrated into the EPIC system, is also available in hard copy format upon request. Yale faculty and NEMG surgeons are listed alphabetically within their respective specialty. Each entry includes a photograph of the surgeon, up to four areas of expertise, primary practice location, and a list of hospitals within the health system where they are credentialed.
"This directory is a practical way to connect more patients with the right physician at the right time and right place. It not only streamlines referrals but also serves as a platform to showcase the incredible talent we have across the enterprise. It's a step towards enhancing communication and collaboration among the community," said Dr. Kulkarni.
In a commitment to continuous improvement, the directory will be regularly updated bi-annually to reflect any changes in faculty or practice locations.
