Meet Daelyn Yasgar, a Data Control Assistant who is dedicated to helping Yale dermatopathologists advance their diagnostic work and research endeavors and enjoys the great outdoors, reading, and gardening.
Staff Spotlight: Daelyn Yasgar
What is your role within Yale Dermatology, and when did you join the department?
“I’m a Data Control Assistant in the Dermatopathology Division. I help keep patient records organized and updated, and I work with pathologists to locate samples for diagnostic and research purposes. I also support the histology technicians when needed. I joined the department in September 2025 and have really enjoyed being part of such a dedicated team.”
What inspired you to choose Yale?
“I was drawn to Yale’s reputation for excellence and innovation in both research and patient care. I wanted to be part of an organization that makes a real impact.”
What do you enjoy most about your job?
“What I enjoy most about my job is knowing that the work I do behind the scenes directly supports patient care. I like problem solving and finding ways to make processes more efficient. It's rewarding to know that those efforts help ensure patients receive timely, reliable results.”
What are you looking forward to most in 2026?
“Traveling more and exploring new places! Getting out of my routine always helps me see things with fresh eyes.”
Do you have any hobbies?
“I love hiking and being outdoors, but when I’m home, I’m usually curled up with my cats and a good book. I’ve also been working on my green thumb. It’s become a fun and surprisingly rewarding hobby.”
