Hun Millard, MD, vice chief of psychiatry and behavioral health for Yale New Haven Hospital and medical director of Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital, has been accepted to the Chief Medical Officers (CMO) Leadership Academy for 2026-2027.
Sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the leadership academy is open to experienced CMOs and is a two-year commitment. Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Identify and describe the critical success factors associated with the CMO role.
- Develop administrative skills required to perform the CMO role.
- Determine opportunities and cultivate strategies to create better alignment within care systems.
- Utilize principles and strategies for leveraging influence to motivate individuals, change behaviors, and drive mutually desired outcomes in the present and/or absence of direct authority.
In the Yale Department of Psychiatry, Millard is associate professor of psychiatry and deputy chair of psychiatry for the Yale New Haven Health System. She graduated from Howard University College of Medicine, did psychiatry residency training at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and completed her child psychiatry fellowship at Yale Child Study Center. She is trained in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry.
