Yale School of Medicine’s (YSM) Master of Health Science (MHS) Degree Program held its inaugural Commencement ceremony on May 19, 2025. While the MHS Program is not a new program, in 2023, it announced a new enhanced format, organized centrally, and offering four tracks: Advanced Health Sciences Research, Clinical Informatics & Data Science (CIDS), Clinical Investigation, and Medical Education.
The MHS Class of 2025 consisted of 28 students—15 participated in the Clinical Investigation track, seven in the CIDS track, and six in Medical Education.
MHS Program graduates participated in the university-wide ceremony on Yale’s Old Campus on the morning of May 19, and in the evening, held their own diploma ceremony in YSM’s Brady Auditorium. Graduating students and their families attended, as well as many first-year MHS students. Director of the MHS Program and Professor of Neurology Lauren Sansing, MD, MS, welcomed the audience, and introduced the commencement speaker, Amy Justice, MD, PhD, C.N.H. Long Professor of Medicine (General Medicine) and professor of public health (health policy).
The graduates represented a wide range of departments, as well as roles, including associate professor, assistant professor, assistant clinical professor, instructor, postdoctoral associate, hospital resident, and clinical fellow.
