Biography

Shufan Huo, MD/PhD is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Falcone Lab in the Department of Neurology, Yale University. She completed her MD at University of Heidelberg and obtained her MD/PhD with Summa cum Laude in stroke epidemiology from Charité - University Medicine Berlin. During her residency in neurology at Charité Berlin, her clinical focus was on neurocritical care and stroke. As a Visiting Scientist at University Hospital Zurich, she worked on a machine learning-based algorithmic approach to analyze streaming data from the neurocritical care unit. Dr. Huo has come to Yale to combine her experience in neurocritical care, epidemiology and data science with population genetics and genomic medicine. Her work focuses on understanding the influence of genetic variations on brain health, cerebrovascular diseases and the clinical trajectories of patients in neurocritical care.
