  • 00:00As an academic institution and an
  • 00:03academic department, we want
  • 00:05to be the leaders when it
  • 00:07comes to finding solutions for patient
  • 00:10problems in order to find new answers
  • 00:12and better answers for the problems that
  • 00:15face us today. We can't do that without
  • 00:18innovation. So at a basic
  • 00:20level, orthopedic surgery
  • 00:21is fixing anything that goes wrong
  • 00:24with a musculoskeletal system.
  • 00:25The broken bones, torn tendons,
  • 00:27aging joints, arthritis.
  • 00:28We're looking at orthopedics
  • 00:30through a new lens. How can? 3D
  • 00:33technology help us with all
  • 00:35of these things. Some of
  • 00:36that is actually redefining the problems
  • 00:39that we've been treating for decades.
  • 00:42Here at Yale Orthopedics and Rehabilitation,
  • 00:44we're looking to impact well beyond
  • 00:46the walls of this campus to be able
  • 00:49to develop technology that will allow
  • 00:52orthopedic surgeons across the
  • 00:53country or across the world to help
  • 00:56their patients in ways that
  • 00:58we never imagined before.
