Clinical Care

Overview

Christofer Anderson, MD, is a surgeon who focuses on general surgery, trauma care, and surgical critical care. He treats people with sudden, life-threatening injuries as well as those who need urgent or complex operations.

Dr. Anderson cares for patients with problems such as severe injuries from accidents, internal bleeding, and infections that require surgery. He also treats conditions like gallbladder disease, hernias, and other abdominal emergencies. He works closely with a team in the operating room and intensive care unit to stabilize patients, manage pain, and support recovery. Patients can expect him to explain their condition and treatment options in clear language and to involve them and their families in decisions whenever possible.

At Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Anderson serves as an assistant professor of surgery. In this role, he helps train future surgeons and participates in efforts to improve the care of injured and critically ill patients through education and quality improvement.

Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree from the Frank H. Netter, MD, School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine, where he also served as an administrative chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in surgical critical care at Yale New Haven Hospital.
