Participate in a Research Study

Are you between the ages of 12 and 30, and have you noticed any recent changes in your thinking, behavior, or experiences? If so, you may be eligible to participate in a study.

Are you experiencing confusion about what's real or imaginary?
Do you feel like you can't control your own thoughts or have difficulty communicating clearly?
You may also be experiencing symptoms such as suspiciousness, paranoia, or hallucinations. ?

We are conducting a study to better understand these experiences and how to treat them. As a participant, you will be compensated for your time.

Current Studies

  • ProNet

    If you're between the ages of 12 and 30 and have recently experienced changes in your thinking, behavior, or experiences, you may qualify for this study. These changes include confusion between reality and imagination, feeling a lack of control over your thoughts or ideas, being suspicious or paranoid, experiencing unreal sensations like hearing sounds or seeing things that aren't there, and having difficulty communicating clearly.

    Participants in this study will undergo an initial screening visit, 2 MRI scans, and 2 sets of blood work. Additionally, they will be asked questions about their experiences and emotional well-being. Total compensation of up to $1000 is provided.     Are you worried about recent changes in your thoughts, perceptions, and feelings?

    Are you between 12 to 34 years old?

    • Unusual thoughts
    • Questioning whether things are real or imaginary
    • Suspiciousness/paranoia
    • A sense of having special powers or unrealistic plans for the future
    • Unusual experiences with seeing or hearing things that are not there.

    The purpose of this study is to see how brain functioning relates to computerized tasks that could ultimately be administered over the internet. An initial screening will compensate participants $45.00 for a 1.5-hour interview. Then, if the study is a good fit for you, you will be invited to participate in a compensated (~$30 per hour, up to $300 - $400) 2-year longitudinal study. If you are younger than 18, please have your parent/guardian call.

  • LTF

    For those individuals who previously participated in a clinical study at PRIME. LTF is a one-time, follow-up study to learn and understand the long term clinical and functional outcome and predictors of wellbeing in teenagers and young adults who in the past sought treatment for certain type of psychological, school or social difficulties.
