Marcos Moreno, MD, a fourth-year resident and public psychiatry fellow, has been selected as the keynote speaker for the Indigenous Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Conference in Tucson, Ariz.

Yang Jae Lee, MD, fourth-year resident in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, has been selected to be a 2025 Laughlin Fellow of The American College of Psychiatrists (ACP).

Henry Kietzman, MD, PhD, and Alyssa Nielsen, MD, both second-year residents, have been selected as new co-presidents of the Yale Psychiatry Residents' Association.

John Cahill, MD, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry, has been selected to be director of the Yale Psychiatry Residency Program.

Julio Nunes, MD; Oluwole Jegede, MD, MPH; and Joao De Aquino, MD are co-authors of a paper in The American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse that discusses how racism-related stress and disparities in addiction treatments may impact pain experience, diagnosis, treatment, development of opioid use disorder, and perpetuation of stigma.

Rachel Bandler, MD, PhD, a third-year resident in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, has been selected to receive the 2024 National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Outstanding Resident Award.

Jeremy Weleff, DO, instructor of psychiatry; resident Julio Nunes, MD; and Dale Sebastian, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry are co-authors of a review in Psychiatric Services that examines the impact of patient suicide on health care professionals, assesses available support resources, and evaluates "postvention" efforts.

Twenty five residents graduated from the Yale Department of Psychiatry Residency Program at a ceremony June 20 at the New Haven Lawn Club.
