Allison Ponce, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry, has been elected a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) with the support of APA’s Division of Psychologists in Public Service (Division 18).
APA members may be honored with fellow status when they show evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology. Fellow status requires that a person’s work has had a national impact on the field of psychology beyond a local, state, or regional level.
Ponce is director of education at the Connecticut Mental Health Center. She supervises and trains psychology fellows and has research, administrative, and clinical interests in public mental health, specifically serious mental illness and homelessness.
