Poetry by Victor Altshul, MD, associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Yale, is featured in this month's CT Poet's Corner column in the Hartford Courant.
The newspaper published two poems by Altshul. Both were inspired by the author's love of music, and are dedicated to the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. They are entitled, "Auditioning For Boheme at Eighty" and "French Horn in the Early Evening," and may be read here.
Altshul has practiced psychiatry for more than 50 years, and has published two books of poetry: "Stumblings" and "Singing with Starlings." He sings opera, is a marathon runner, and has rowed in many regattas, including the Head of the Charles in Boston.
He and his wife, Laura, are parents to seven children between them. They also have several grandchildren.
