Chiefs Residents

Chief residents for the Primary Care and Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Programs are chosen for their commitment to clinical and academic excellence, their leadership skills and their desire to contribute to and positively impact the lives of our trainees, the care of our patients and the advancement of the educational mission of our training programs. You will encounter them as attendings on the wards and in the outpatient practice, as presenters at Yale Medical Grand Rounds and across all training sites of the residency programs.

With the enhanced primary care developments in the Primary Care Residency, the specific chief residents’ roles include chief resident at the VA Center of Excellence in Primary Care and a chief resident in advocacy and community health. While each of the chiefs has unique areas of academic interest, all have strong commitments to social justice, health equity, primary care and patient advocacy. They have leadership roles in helping our programs cultivate meaningful relationships with the community of New Haven and the organizations involved in the care of our patients outside of Yale New Haven Hospital.
