Adrienne Hicks, MD, PhD

Adrienne Hicks, MD, PhD, is a psychiatrist specializing in addiction psychiatry. She helps individuals address mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. She uses a range of therapeutic approaches to support patients’ emotional well-being and recovery.

As an assistant professor of psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Hicks focuses on advancing care for people with mental health conditions. She is particularly interested in developing strategies that improve outcomes for those affected by substance use.

Dr. Hicks received her medical training from Xavier University School of Medicine, completed her psychiatry residency at Columbia University School of Medicine at Harlem Hospital, and pursued a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. She earned her graduate degree from Meharry Medical College.
