Performance on the tone-in-noise task varies rapidly and continuously over the course of the 2-3 hour session. This animal exhibited a mix of hits, false alarms, and misses. Examining the pupil diameter during the performance of the task revealed rapid variations in arousal. The animal walked twice during this session. The dashed black line represents the optimal state for performance of the task.
