Dr. Jeanette Tetrault, associate professor of medicine, has received the W. Anderson Spickard, Jr. Excellence in Mentorship Award. This award, from the Association for Medical Education and Research on Substance use and Addiction (AMERSA), is given to one awardee annually and recognizes an individual who provides outstanding research and career mentorship to trainees and junior faculty.
Dr. Tetrault received her award at the AMERSA national meeting in San Francisco on November 9, 2018. She was joined at the meeting by several of her Yale faculty colleagues and a number of her mentees who are former Yale addiction medicine fellows and internal medicine residents.
Tetrault’s scholarly work focuses on the care of patients with addiction and the medical conditions associated with substance use, mainly HIV and Hepatitis C. She is the program director for the Yale Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program and serves on the Board of Directors for The Addiction Medicine Foundation and the Addiction Medicine Fellowship Directors Association.
