Overview

Ralph DeBiasi, MD, is a cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm abnormalities.

Dr. DeBiasi is specifically interested in atrial fibrillation management. Atrial fibrillation is characterized by an abnormal and irregular, sometimes rapid heart rhythm that can lead to blood clots in the heart.

Because medical diagnoses can be scary or overwhelming, Dr. DeBiasi says he’s dedicated to forging relationships with his patients and arming them with information to help them make sense of their condition and treatment by continuously looping them into the conversation. Though this takes time, he believes it makes a difference for patients.

There are many different types of devices and methods to treat heart rhythm problems, and advances in technology continue to drive treatment improvements in electrophysiology. Dr. DeBiasi describes his job as the perfect match between prescribing medical treatments for patients as well as performing surgical procedures that can help improve patients’ quality of life, and sometimes prolong their lives and avoid hospitalizations.
