JoAnn Hong-Curtis, MD, is a general gastroenterologist who specializes in women’s issues. She treats patients who have Crohn’s disease, acid reflux, celiac disease, gastroesophageal reflux diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, peptic ulcer disease, ulcerative colitis, and other digestive system disorders.

Dr. Hong-Curtis says she became a doctor because she wanted to help improve people’s lives by providing them with the best possible care. “In the field of gastroenterology, we really are able to help patients tremendously,” she says. It’s rewarding every day to be able to help people achieve a better quality of life thanks to early detection of colon cancer and advanced medical and endoscopic treatments that are improving care for multiple gastrointestinal diseases, she says.
