Chemical Biology
A number of MCGD faculty seek to understand the chemistry that underlies biological processes, utilizing chemistry, biology and physics. Molecular compounds are used as tools to explore and modify existing biological processes, including catalytic RNAs, engineering new RNA and DNA enzymes, the enzymology of homologous recombination, exploring signal transduction pathways, and the evolution of metabolic pathways.
