Synthetic Biology
A subset of MCGD Track faculty are conducting research in synthetic biology, or the engineering of biology. This emerging field is complementary to systems biology and seeks to design and construct new biological systems or re-design existing biological systems to better understand and engineer biological systems spanning prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
