A Silver Lining for Support Groups
Following a diagnosis of cancer, feelings of isolation, helplessness, anxiety and/or depression can be overwhelming. Support groups have long been a popular option for patients and families in need of reassurance; a safe place to share experiences and concerns with others who are going through a similar experience. However, with the arrival of COVID-19 and its subsequent quarantine, public gatherings came to a halt, temporarily discontinuing support groups at Smilow Cancer Hospital.
