The Department of Surgery is pleased to announce recent appointments of Yale Medicine surgeons Vikram Reddy, MD and Andrew Duffy, MD to the Yale New Haven Health System Digestive Health leadership team, in the capacity of Surgical Associate Chief for Digestive Health.
“Dr. Reddy’s and Dr. Duffy’s appointments formally recognize our next-generation leaders for their clinical acumen, and commitment to the vision of a consistent surgical care signature, across the system,” said Surgeon in Chief of Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) and Yale School of Medicine (YSM), Department of Surgery Chair, Nita Ahuja, MD, MBA, FACS.
Dr. Reddy is an Assistant Professor in YSM, Department of Surgery, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He specializes in the treatment of chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and advanced laparoscopic management of colorectal diseases.
Dr. Duffy is an Associate Professor in YSM, Department of Surgery, Division of Bariatric & Minimally Invasive Surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques in the treatment of primary and recurrent abdominal wall and hiatal hernias.
Dr. Reddy’s and Dr. Duffy’s appointments formally recognize our next-generation leaders for their clinical acumen, and commitment to the vision of a consistent surgical care signature, across the system.
Drs. Reddy and Duffy will oversee the IBD and Hernia programs, respectively, including clinical care, research initiatives, and community outreach.

Digestive Health was launched in November 2019 as the seventh service line of the destination Health System, with the aim to provide multidisciplinary and integrated care across the digestive health continuum, from population health to complex disease management.
