Gary V. Gordon, M.D. ’73 to be honored by Arthritis Foundation

The Arthritis Foundation has announced Gary V. Gordon, MD, FACP, FACR as Rheumatologist of the Year. Dr. Gordon will be honored at the Arthritis Foundation’s 2018 BONE BASH Philadelphia event on Friday October 5, 2018 at the Mutter Museum of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.

The annual BONE BASH event supports the seriousness of the disease of arthritis. All proceeds support efforts to combat arthritis, helping more than 50 million Americans, including 2.9 million adults and 11,500 children in Pennsylvania. The event helps educate and support the continuing fight for the arthritis community, providing life-changing information and resources, access to optimal care, advancements in science and diverse community connections.

This year’s Rheumatologist of the Year honoree, Dr. Gary Gordon, said, “I am honored to receive this award, having committed my career to helping patients who suffer from various forms of arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation makes a considerable effort raising money benefiting much needed medical research, and educating patients so they may enjoy a more pain-free quality of life.”

Gary V Gordon, M.D. has been a rheumatologist at Lankenau Hospital since 1982 and is currently the chief of the rheumatology section. He earned a BA from Brown University and M.D. from Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Gordon did his rheumatology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, has published articles in medical journals, written chapters in textbooks in the field of rheumatology, and is a well-respected and frequent lecturer throughout the country. He is a fellow in the American College of Rheumatology and The American College of Physicians. Dr. Gordon has been listed as a “Top Doctor” in Philadelphia Magazine and in the Main Line Today Magazine for many years. He is married with four children.
