Biography

Aakash Chowkase, Ph.D., is an Associate Research Scientist on the Implementation Science team at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. In this role, Aakash supports research initiatives focused on the development and validation of assessments, conducting implementation and efficacy trials of RULER, and analyzing data from the RULER metrics database (previously known as performance management).

Aakash holds a B.E. in Information Technology and a B.Ed. from Savitribai Phule Pune University, an M.A. in Education from Azim Premji University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Purdue University. With 17 years of experience in the education and nonprofit sectors, Aakash brings extensive expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating psychoeducational programs that promote adolescents' cognitive and affective growth in areas such as creativity, compassion, self-regulation, and leadership.

His current research centers on measuring and cultivating concern for others in adolescents and adults across diverse cultural contexts.
