Biography

Robert Chow, MD, is an anesthesiologist that specializes in interventional pain management. Dr. Chow completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He then went on to complete his fellowship in interventional pain medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He is interested in exploring any and all modalities of treatment that can help his patients.

Dr. Chow was drawn to anesthesiology as a field that uniquely combines tailored individual care, precision, empathy, and the ability to rapidly develop rapport with patients. He was inspired by the role anesthesiologists play in not only ensuring patient safety during surgery but also in supporting patients through some of their most challenging times.

After working closely with patients in acute pain, he realized that chronic pain should not be overlooked due to its profound impact on quality of life. In pain medicine he found the opportunity to help patients regain mobility, improve their function and enhance their well-being.

Pain medicine has allowed Dr. Chow to blend the science of medicine and the art of healing. These tools give him the privilege to take care of patients with a variety of challenging pain concerns.

His specific fields of interest include treating long COVID-19 symptoms of anosmia, trigeminal neuralgia, headache and peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Chow has a particular interest in peripheral nerve stimulation and spinal cord stimulation. In addition, he performs joint injections, spine injections, radiofrequency ablations and more.
