Yale Advances Rheumatology Research and Practice at American College of Rheumatology Convergence 2023

This year, several Yale faculty and trainees are attending the annual American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2023 Convergence meeting on November 10–15, 2023, in San Diego, Calif. Residents, faculty, and fellows presented their own research studies, in addition to moderating events and speaking at invited lectures.

Evelyn Hsieh, MD, PhD, associate professor of medicine (rheumatology, allergy & immunology), will be co-chairing the ACR Global Rheumatology Summit and moderating of the sessions, including the opening keynote, “Forging Innovative Partnerships to Expand Global Access to Essential Medicines,” and the closing session, “Global Priorities, Opportunities and Challenges in Rheumatology Research.”

Clinical Fellow Mario Felix, MD, will be co-moderating the session on “Working at and with Industry as a Rheumatologist.” Sang T Kim, MD, PhD, assistant professor, will share his research in an oral presentation on “Identification of Biomarkers Predicting Steroid Resistance in Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-Induced Arthritis.” Fotios Koumpouras, MD, will lead two sessions, a scientific session on Education and Wellness Inspirations, and a second session on Case-based Primary Care Curriculum.
