Career Path of Graduates
The first graduating class of the Yale Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program was in 2002. Graduates of the Yale Medicine/Pediatrics Residency have pursued a wide range of professional opportunities ranging from clinical practice to academic medicine to subspecialty training. Nationally, graduates of combined internal medicine/pediatrics residency programs pursue generalist careers at a higher rate than graduates of either pediatrics or internal medicine residency programs. Our graduates are successful in obtaining subspecialty fellowships in the most competitive programs in both adult medicine and pediatrics.

Orientation
The Yale Department of Internal Medicine-Education, new! Intern Orientation for the Yale Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program begins on June 11th.
- Participation by all new interns in daily Intern Orientation Activities from June 11 through June 20 is mandatory.
- Each new intern will receive their Intern Orientation Schedule at the Med/Peds registration desk on June 11th.
- Please contact Mary Sarah Thanas, the Yale Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program Coordinator, with any concerns or questions about Intern Orientation.

Yale Med-Peds Diversity Council
The Yale Med-Peds Diversity Council is an organization comprised of residents, faculty, and staff who seek to promote the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the Yale Internal Medicine–Pediatrics Program, Yale-affiliated medical centers, and the greater New Haven community. Our objectives include recruiting and retaining URIM-identifying house staff and faculty, fostering mentorship for URIM-identifying health professionals at all levels of medical training, and engaging in advocacy and service to support the Waterbury and New Haven communities.

- Host DEI Med-Peds Noon Conferences
Service
- Continue our partnership with Amistad Academy, a local high school in the community
- Support individual resident service projects, including working with justice-involved youth, food justice, and global health
Enrichment
- Establish URIM Alumni database
- Connect URIM faculty with Med-Peds residents for mentorship
