Apply to PhD in Injury Research

Applicants must apply to BOTH the MENA PAIR program and the PhD in Epidemiology at the AUB Faculty of Health Sciences. For more information about the PhD in Epidemiology degree, click HERE.

To be eligible for admission to the PhD in Epidemiology program, a candidate must:

  • Hold a master’s degree in Epidemiology or in a relevant discipline such as public health, nursing, statistics and health informatics, pharmacy, biological sciences and others, from AUB or other recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Have an outstanding cumulative average, acceptable to the appropriate faculty graduate committee. A minimum cumulative course average of 85 over 100, or its equivalent, is required for admission
  • Demonstrate English proficiency as stipulated in the University Graduate Catalogue for requirement for admission into PhD studies
  • An interview in person will be undertaken by the PhD Program committee for applicants who meet the minimum admission requirements

IMPORTANT NOTE

All students (Lebanese or non-Lebanese) must secure from the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) - Equivalence Committee (English, Arabic) (Beirut, UNESCO Palace area), either the equivalence of their diplomas or the permission to enter the freshman class. The Equivalence Committee requires the students to have their official papers such as the original final high school or university grades and diplomas authenticated from countries where they studied: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Lebanese Embassy. Failure to submit the equivalence/permission to the Office of Admissions by course registration date will result in registration hold and delay/refusal of the residency permits for non-Lebanese students.

The application deadline for starting Fall 2024-2025 is March 14, 2024.

MENA PAIR seeks to form a cohort of trainees that is rich in diversity of ethnic backgrounds, prior training, and gender representation. The program is open to those with basic science, public health, and clinical interests. Trainee selection for degree and certificate training will occur annually. The process for trainee selection is as follows:
  • Apply to AUB
    • Applicants must apply for graduate admission (either MS or PhD) through the AUB online graduate admissions portal prior to applying to MENA PAIR.
    • Application Fees ($50)
    • The deadline to apply to AUB’s graduate program for the Fall 2022 term is March 14, 2024
  • Apply to MENA PAIR
    • Applicants must apply to MENA PAIR via the MENA PAIR online portal.
    • Applicants must submit:
    • Application Deadline to apply for MENA PAIR Masters or PhD starting Fall 2022 is March 14, 2024
  • Interviews: Selected applicants may be invited for a video interview by the selection committee.
Applicants must be accepted by BOTH AUB graduate programs and MENA PAIR admissions committees.
