YNHH Emergency Medicine APP Postgraduate Training Program
We appreciate your interest in our program, and hope that we can answer any questions you may have.
The primary goal of our program is to provide an intense clinical and educational experience that will produce a highly competent provider of emergency medicine. Yale has a proud tradition of medical education, and this program is designed to achieve the same degree of success in producing world-class health care providers.
What are the advantages of training at Yale? Some of the highlights include:
- Training at Yale New Haven Hospital, a world recognized academic medical center. YNHH is the state’s only Level 1 pediatric and adult trauma center and is a tertiary referral center for this and neighboring states.
- Significant clinical experience. YNHH is a very high-volume urban emergency department, seeing over 100,000 patients/year. Our trainees will be exposed to a variety of different ED settings, including a dedicated pediatric ED and community emergency medicine, in both urban and suburban settings.
- Outstanding academic opportunities. Our faculty include many national leaders in emergency medicine research and teaching. From toxicology, to ultrasound, to EMS, you will work alongside and be taught by faculty with a wide variety of interests and expertise. With a well-established physician EM residency and multiple EM fellowship programs, teaching is part of the culture in our emergency department.
- Living on the Connecticut shoreline. Life in the New Haven area offers a wide variety of activities, no matter what you enjoy. The city has a thriving restaurant and cultural scene, thanks in part to our numerous colleges and universities. Situated on the Long Island Sound, we have easy access to beaches, boating, hiking, and an endless variety of outdoor activities. We are also an easy drive or train ride from both New York City and Boston, which offer limitless options.
Please read through our website for more specific details on the program. If you are a PA or FNP who is interested in pursuing additional training in emergency medicine, please feel free to contact us with any other questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.
