W. Ian McDonald, Ph.D., professor adjunct of neurology, presented the Helen Wilshire Walsh Lecture titled “The Dynamics of Multiple Sclerosis” in June at Yale. Ms. Walsh was a supporter of neurology research and had a long-standing interest in improving the lives of people with disabilities. McDonald has made many contributions to the diagnosis and understanding of multiple sclerosis and has used magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy to probe its evolution in humans.
