Musculoskeletal Evaluation and Management for Medical Students

As co-chair of the virtual blended Advanced Fracture Course I coordinated over 20 faculty members and 80 participants to introduce advanced fracture principles to high level Orthopaedic learners. This included pre course activities, discussion forums and live discussion groups.

As co-chair of the inaugural in person blended Advanced Principles of Fracture Management this course marked the resurgence of the AO North America as a live event. The creation of a safe, responsible live event was a critical role managing international faculty travel, venue restrictions and indoor hands on events.

Beginning in 2012 in conjunction with Drs. Michael Baumgaertner, Leo Cooney and Jensa Morris we began the hip fracture committee to develop protocols unique to YNHH that would allow for extensive integration of Medical co management. This has evolved to become the combined hip fracture program at YNHH SRC which effectively treats over 500 hip fracture patients in an effective and efficient manner.

In a public service effort I was featured on WTNH for snow related injuries and snow plow injuries during winter storm alerts.

In my role as Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma I was featured in a news report on snow sports related injuries.

In my role as Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma I was featured for an interview on snow safety and the city.

In my role as Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma I was featured on a news report regarding driving habits and increased activities coming into the summer of 2021.

As the physician lead on the Orthopaedic Trauma Implant Contracting Initiative I sought involvement of subject matter experts of the NorthEast Purchasing Coalition and from the YNHH system Hospitals to garner consensus opinion and share information regarding contracting and pricing for effective utilization of healthcare resources.
