Overview
Johanna D'Addario, MHS, PA-C, is a physician assistant at Smilow Cancer Hospital who specializes in gynecologic oncology, and has special interests in genetics, health and wellness, and disease prevention. She has cared for patients who have hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome (HBOC), BRCA mutations, and who are going through menopause.
“I am honored to support women during their cancer journey so they feel cared about both physically and emotionally,” says D’Addario. “I am a strong proponent of holistic care for patients, and I love the work that I do in helping patients through the complexities of being a cancer survivor. It makes me proud to have the unique opportunity to prevent cancer in our high-risk population, and to assist women in the menopause transition.”
D'Addario, who is the coordinator of the Sexuality, Intimacy & Menopause Clinic at Smilow, enjoys helping women with cancer maintain healthy relationships. She tells patients, “You are not alone. What you are experiencing is totally normal, and we can help you through it.”
In addition to caring for patients, D’Addario serves on the Board of the Connecticut Academy of PAs and the Connecticut PA Foundation.
