Biography
Arman Afrasiyabi is a postdoctoral associate at Yale University, working in the Krishnaswamy-Lab. Arman's research path lies at the intersection of interpretable multi-modal deep learning in computer vision & medical imaging. In July 2022, he received his Ph.D. from Université Laval & Mila, advised by Jean-François Lalonde and Christian Gagné, where his research was focused on representation learning and meta-learning in limited data situations. In particular, Arman's Ph.D. resulted in three notable contributions being published at ECCV-2020 (as a spotlight), ICCV-2021, and CVPR-2022, and his last Ph.D. project was a collaboration with Hugo Larochelle. Prior to the Ph.D. in Canada, Arman was with Image-Lab and obtained my M.S. from METU, where I worked on brain decoding via fMRI data.
