Transgender People With Cancer: Film and Panel Discussion

There will be a screening of the film, Trans Dudes with Lady Cancers, on Nov. 14, followed by a panel discussion, "Inclusive Care for Transgender People with Cancer & Art as Resistance," on Nov. 15. All are welcome to attend these free events.

The film screening will take place on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., at the Whitney Humanities Center, 320 York St. Trans Dudes With Lady Cancer is a short film documenting the journey of two transmasculine people, their families, and their communities, as they navigate breast cancer and ovarian cancer within the medical system.

The panel discussion, "Inclusive Care for Transgender People with Cancer & Art as Resistance," will take place on Friday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., at The Anlyan Center. Speakers will include filmmaker Yee Won Chong along with the Transgender Cancer Patient Community Advisory Board and Ash Alpert, MD, MFA, whose work focuses on improving experiences and outcomes for transgender people with cancer. The panel discussion will be followed by lunch.

The events are hosted by the Yale Cancer Center, Whitney Humanities Center, YSM Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and the Yale Queer Faculty Affinity Group.
