"Stand Up for Health Equity and Tell Your Story!"

October 08, 2024

The Department of Pediatrics will host Colleen A. Kraft, MD, MBA, an expert in media messaging about pediatric health and social justice issues, on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 4 p.m. in the Anlyan Center.

Kraft is a professor of pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. She served as president of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) in 2018 during the "Zero Tolerance" policy that led to family separation at the U.S.-Mexico border. Her media engagement influenced safer and more just policies for migrant children and their families.

In this campus and community-wide talk, Kraft will engage with youth, supportive adults, and civically minded individuals who want to tell their stories on health equity. Those stories can shape the hearts and minds of people everywhere. Those stories can mobilize resources and reach influential decision makers.

Everyone has a powerful story to tell -- come learn how to share it with impact!
