It was a day of learning and a day of presentations, but also a day to remember a giant in Ob/Gyn - Peter E. Schwartz, MD, who was a departmental and world leader in GynOnc for nearly 50 years. He passed away on October 20.
The 39th Annual Ella T. Grasso Memorial Conference in Gynecologic Oncology was held at Yale West Campus on Wednesday, Nov. 6, hosted by Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital.
As each presenter came up to deliver their talk, they first took a few minutes to share how Schwartz had impacted them personally and professionally. In addition, Elena Ratner, MD, MBA, gave Schwartz’s wife, Arlene - who was in attendance - the original proclamation Schwartz had received years ago from the State of Connecticut.
The conference agenda included the following.
Session 1, on General Health Cervical Malignancies, was moderated by Mitchell Clark, MD, MPH.
