Research

Overview

Dr. Ananth's research seeks to measure and optimize quality of care and healthcare experiences for children with serious illnesses. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, Dr. Ananth has developed novel tools to assess quality of care for children with advanced cancer. She has also studied patient and family experiences with care in the context of childhood cancer. Supported by grants from the NIH, the St. Baldrick's Foundation, and the National Palliative Care Research Center, Dr. Ananth seeks to move the needle on improving the overall care experience and reducing suffering among children with serious illness.

Overview

Prasanna Ananth, MD, MPH, is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist. As a specialist caring for children with cancer and blood disorders, she says that helping children and families cope with serious illness provides inspiration for her patient care and research.

“I enjoy learning about my patients’ lives outside of the clinic or hospital,” Dr. Ananth says. “I am privileged to work with incredible children, families and colleagues from different specialties.”
