Simulation Academy at Yale

Supports creative educational activities with a primary focus on curriculum development, mentoring, hands on activities and outreach to students in the local community.

Simulation Academy at Yale – Youth Entering Science (SAY-YES!)

The Simulation Academy at Yale: Youth Entering Science (SAY-YES!) Is supported by an R25 Science Education Partnership Award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. SAY-YES! is an after-school program at the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation that focuses on hands-on STEM experiential learning for local high school students and exposes them to potential careers in the healthcare profession. It offers students exposure to new opportunities, creates a sense of accomplishment and encourages social learning. Yale Sim Academy students receive structured mentoring from a range of advisors, including undergraduate students, medical students, fellows and faculty members. Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation has collaborated with the New Haven Public School system and Yale Pathways to Science to introduce up to 98 high schoolers from three local high schools to different career paths in an effort to encourage them to join the healthcare workforce.

Congrats to the Students of Simulation Academy at Yale!

Congratulations to the students who graduated from Simulation Academy at Yale— an after-school program with hands-on health care simulation and STEM learning! Within the last year, the students explored careers in health care. They were guided in mentorship by Yale undergraduates, medical students, fellows, and faculty. Through weekly sessions at the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation, they gained real-world experience and confidence, to envision their futures.
