University Engagement Opportunities
Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School
The Solomon Center focuses on the intersection of law and the governance, practice, and business of health care. Building on established relationships with the Yale School of Medicine (YSM), Yale Cancer Center, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Yale School of Management, and Yale Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics, the Center brings together all that Yale has to offer to make a difference both at Yale and beyond.
YSM organizes some events with the Solomon Center and the YSM community is welcome to participate in all their events. YSM students can be fellows at the Center.
Yale Institute for Global Health (YIGH)
Led by the schools of public health, medicine, and nursing, YIGH is a university-wide effort to address global health issues, and serves as the focal point for research, education, and engagement with global partners to improve the health of individuals and populations worldwide. Students can engage through activities like the YIGH Case Competition 2023 and the Global Health Students Advocacy Coalition.
Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking
The Center’s mission is to inspire students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to seek innovative ways to solve real-world problems. Launched in 2017, it serves students from across Yale’s campus through programs, funding, and mentoring.
Poynter Fellowship in Journalism
Each year, this fellowship brings a diverse set of journalists to campus, who each give a lecture open to the Yale community and also engage with the Yale community in smaller settings.
The MacMillan Center
The MacMillan Center extracurricular programs deepen and extend this research-teaching nexus of faculty and students at Yale, with more than 700 lectures, conferences, workshops, roundtables, symposia, film, and art events each year. Virtually all of these are open to the community at large.
Yale Healthcare Conference
Now in its 19th year, the Yale Healthcare Conference is a collaborative effort between Yale's Schools of Medicine, Management, Nursing, and Public Health. This annual student-led event brings together industry leaders, clinicians, and scholars to engage in meaningful discourse regarding today’s foremost healthcare issues, and opportunities for leadership, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Yale College Teas
College Teas, hosted by each of Yale’s fourteen residential colleges, provide an opportunity for a relatively intimate group of students – as well as Yale community members and members of the public – to interact with distinguished visitors from the worlds of politics, the arts, academia, social movements, business, and media in an informal setting in the living room of the Head of College House.
