- 00:00Hi everyone, I'm Bum Laksam
- 00:02from Suni Binghamton and I will
- 00:04present an overview of our work
- 00:06on the impacts of working memory,
- 00:08load and emotional reliance on
- 00:10state and positivity and emotional
- 00:12regulation and chronic cannabis
- 00:13users and non cannabis users.
- 00:17We employed A2 by three mixed model design.
- 00:21Our community participant poll
- 00:23consisted of 233 individuals
- 00:25after removing random responders.
- 00:27As for tasks, we utilize the mback
- 00:30task with images from the IOPS
- 00:32database as well as the latest
- 00:33counting and probability task and we
- 00:35have some other self report measures.
- 00:40We can see here in the results that
- 00:42both cannabis users and non users
- 00:44exhibited significantly greater
- 00:46impulsive responding following the
- 00:47high working memory load task compared
- 00:49to the low working memory load task.
- 00:52Additionally, we found that non cannabis
- 00:55users experienced significantly
- 00:57greater difficulties and emotion
- 00:58regulation compared to cannabis users.
- 01:04Here are some Mary interesting findings.
- 01:06After the low working memory task,
- 01:09cannabis users and the positive and
- 01:11neutral emotion conditions exhibited
- 01:13greater impulsive responding.
- 01:14However, after the high working memory task,
- 01:17non cannabis users in the negative
- 01:20emotion condition demonstrated greater
- 01:22levels of impulsive responding.
- 01:24And last, cannabis users demonstrated more
- 01:27difficulty in emotional regulation in the
- 01:30positive and negative emotion conditions
- 01:32as compared to non cannabis users.
- 01:34These findings highlight the complex
- 01:36relations among working memory,
- 01:38emotional states,
- 01:38and positivity and emotional regulation
- 01:41among cannabis users and non users and
- 01:43indicate that chronic cannabis use may
- 01:45be associated with both compensatory
- 01:47and deleterious effects on working
- 01:49memory and self regulatory systems.
- 01:51Thank you and please let me know
- 01:54if you have any questions.
