Abigail McDonald

Abigail McDonald, MD is from Inverness, Florida, a small town on Florida's Nature Coast. She completed a residency in primary care/internal medicine at the University of Connecticut. She is ABIM-board certified in internal medicine and is a certified wilderness first responder through the Wilderness Medicine Society. She became interested in occupational and environmental medicine through the experience of completing residency during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly with respect to healthcare worker safety and infection control. Her academic interests are widespread, but include health equity and rare/infrequent environmental exposures. Outside of medicine, she enjoys kickboxing, hiking, going to museums, reading horror novels, or if she's back home in Florida, scuba diving or flying the family Piper Warrior.
