Garcia-Tsao Honored with Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award

Guadalupe Garcia-Tsao, MD, professor of medicine (digestive diseases) will receive the American Liver Foundation’s Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award (DSAA), the organization’s most prestigious award. A ceremony is planned for November 14.

“We all are very proud and excited that Dr. Garcia-Tsao has been recognized for her lifetime of outstanding achievements in hepatology,” said Loren Laine, MD, professor of medicine and chief of the Section of Digestive Diseases in the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine.

The DSAA is given annually to a scientist who has made a major contribution to liver disease research in basic science or in its application toward the prevention, treatment or cure of liver disease.
