DIM Spotlight: Viviane Bunin, MD, PhD

Introducing Viviane Bunin, MD, PhD, former fellow of Yale Department of Internal Medicine. Bunin completed her fellowship in 2012.

Where are you now?

I live in Seattle, Washington and have my own practice Rheumatology and Autoimmune Center since November of 2017. Before that I was at Houston Methodist Hospital, and Cornell University as assistant professor of medicine--teaching residents, students, and received the FACP member honor while there. I’m also a consultant rheumatologist in Bermuda, and initiate the use of biologics for rheumatology patients in the country.

What do you love about your career?

Being involved and making a positive difference in someone's life.

How did Yale prepare you for your career?

Critical thinking is essential these days.

One piece of advice you’ll never forget?

Rare syndromes present themselves in pairs, the "third case" is just your bias.

What is your fondest memory?

Receiving heartwarming thank you letters from patients.
