To the YSM Community:
We have been making important progress since we announced the alignment of Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) and Yale School of Medicine (YSM) just over a year ago.
As part of this work, we launched a newly aligned physician enterprise in January, under the leadership of Chief Physician Executive Peg McGovern, MD, PhD, that will allow us to provide better access for patients, ensure consistency of the highest quality care across YNHHS and YSM, and address inefficiencies. In addition, we have been working to simplify the funds flow model between YSM and YNHHS to make it more transparent and formulaic, align incentives, and improve the patient experience.
To enable faculty and staff who may not have been able to attend departmental town halls to ask questions and provide input about these key aspects of our alignment work, we have scheduled the following town halls:
- Integrated Physician Enterprise: Tuesday, May 2, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Harkness Auditorium, in which Dr. McGovern will provide a more detailed view of the vision for the aligned physician practice model.
- New Funds Flow Model:
- In-person town hall: Monday, May 1, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Harkness Auditorium
- Virtual town hall: Tuesday, May 9, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Zoom
We will reserve time to answer your questions and, most importantly, to listen – we encourage you to bring and share your suggestions, ideas, and feedback.
