The Yale Department of Internal Medicine is accepting submissions for the 9th Annual Stories of Yale Internal Medicine Medical Grand Rounds. This special Grand Rounds illustrates the power of narrative as an educational tool for physicians, both as storytellers and listeners, and the selected stories serve as springboards for discussion and dissemination. Several have been published in high-impact journals.
This year’s “Stories of Yale Internal Medicine” Medical Grand Rounds will take place on June 12, 2025. The Medical Grand Rounds will feature up to six stories intended to represent profound personal experiences related to training or a career in Internal Medicine.
If you wish to be considered, please submit one written nonfiction story of 1200 words or less by Thursday, May 1, 2025. Email your story as an attachment to Roberta Biceglia with the subject line "MEDICAL GRAND ROUNDS STORY." Previously published work is not eligible.
We also invite you to submit a "Six Word Story." This is a challenging device used in writing contests to “tell a story” in six words total.
The selected presenters will be notified by May 2025.
